I used to wear a Invisible Man costume all the time for jokes. I had a few horror movies that I watched as a child, but I was never really that into some of the others. They were all right on occasion, but I didn’t get into them like some of my other classic horror moviechoices. The Invisible Man was always my favorite – this was probably because I was a tomboy, and was more interested in playing outside, building forts, and riding my bike.

I was really surprised that my son, who shows many of the same interests that I had when I was young, asked me if he could get an Invisible Man costume this year. And I said yes. As a result he has loved that Invisible Man costume so much that I am sorry I didn’t get it for him sooner. I just had no idea he was that interested.

In fact now he wears it all of the time, and he even wore the Invisible Man costume to the grocery store one night. My husband was not thrilled about it at first, but when he saw how happy it made him to tell everyone he was the Invisible Man that he decided that if he wants to wear it, there is certainly no harm in doing so.

The other way to approach Halloween costumes takes a little bit of planning, but might have dramatic results. Most people don’t realize that Invisible Man costumes are so expensive because people wait until the last minute.
